HAITI
Recently I sent out a request from the Haiti task force for donations to help
with the severe food shortage impacting our Haitian mission partners. Food
costs have tripled, and with the unemployment rate so high in Haiti, people
are starving. In response, your donations have been so generous. George
Weavill was able to transfer $6,700 down to the MEBB bank account in
Haiti. Rice, beans, spaghetti, sugar and oil were delivered to a number of
pastors to be distributed to the folks in need. More donations are coming in
so that another round of food may be purchased and distributed this
summer.

In addition, a third well finally has been put in at the church in Archaie,
funded by money raised several years ago by Seekonk Congregational
Church. The people in that Haitian community are thrilled to now have
water available to them. The people of Haiti are so grateful for all that the
RIC-UCC folks have done to support some of the needs and make a
difference to the people in the MEBB.

Peace and blessings, Suzanne Swanson
